Hello Again!
It’s been a while since I’ve last posted anything on this site. It’s time to get back to work and get serious about this website. I have a few other sites to develop as well and get up and running. I’ve been spending a lot of time practicing and playing guitar and trying to get better. Having a bad back with severe stenosis makes playing for any length of time difficult, but it’s something I really enjoy, so I try to play through the pain. I recently bought a new Stratocaster guitar as it’s considerably lighter than my 1960 Tribute Les Paul or my Wildkat Royale. With all the bullshit going on in the world today, having something that you can turn to for a couple of hours and blank all the crap out helps me keep some sanity. It seems that at this time, living in Ottawa isn’t such a bad thing, as it was recently advertised as the safest city in Canada.
What’s Next
I plan on getting a website up that features the best and worst of our nation’s capital, Ottawa. The website will contain pictures and video of some of the features around Ottawa, as well as information on local venues. I’m also working on a website that will hopefully help those who are older or with disabilities learn to play an instrument such as guitar or keyboards. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to learn an instrument when you are older or have a disability. I’m currently working on some video for that site and hoping it will be live by the New Year, 2018. There are also a couple of other general interest websites I’m working on and hope to have live over the next few months. One will be featuring cats and everything one needs to know from choosing one to the medical issues that may arise. My wife is crazy about cats and we currently have three of them in our home ranging in age from 7 to 19 years old.
I definitely have my work cut out for me and I will have to step back from spending as much time practicing guitar and watching videos on YouTube. I have learned a great deal about playing guitar from YouTube and watch a lot of my favorite artists in concert or just playing in a studio. It’s simply amazing how far technology has come in terms to what is available on sites such as YouTube. Even Netflix can be addictive with all the programming now available and that you can stream or download to your phone. It seems like not that long ago the World Wide Web consisted of a handful of sites such as Coca-Cola and CNN, and email was something that was still in its infancy and rarely used. To do anything online, you first had to have the means to spend a few grand on a computer and then be willing to dish out considerable money for a dial-up connection that you could only use for a few hours a month. Now we do everything on our phones and laptops that used to cost $4,000 or $5,000 can now be bought for a couple hundred dollars if you opt for something that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles.
I’m starting to ramble now, so it’s time to sign off and do some work on other websites and do some necessary work on this one other than writing posts. Check back for other updates and new posts.
